John L. Neumeyer, 92, died Feb. 16, 2023, in Wayland, Massachusetts. “John landed the US 1945 with his mother and sister after escaping Nazi Germany was orphaned shortly thereafter. Despite adversities, thrived to become a scientist entrepreneur. At Northeastern University, he created medicinal chemistry PhD program appointed first Matthews Distinguished Professor. He cofounded Research Biochemicals International, neurochemicals company. Notable accomplishments include sterile suture packaging, seminal contributions dopamine pharmacology, development of radiotracers for detecting Parkinson’s disease. is dearly remembered as gracious colleague, beloved professor, generous friend, whose resilience, optimism, service are an inspiration us all.”—Ann daughter, Anna W.
